Oooops6: With respect to my tour as Communications Officer on Keppler, before I left for “Destroyer School”, the ship was going to be going under routine maintenence at the pier in Newport. Goody, good, home most nights. Ooops, maintenance was upgraded to a higher level, SHIPALT (ship alteration) and we were moved to the Boston Navy Yard for 4 months. Now, not necessarily home at night, and long commutes between Newport and Boston. Yucchy!
Oooops5: Lest I forget, Barrie has concluded all our purchases and sales of real estate, a Very, Big, Big, Big Deal for me.
Oooops4: Someone has mentioned that I need to get my smiling face, updated, back on the Blog, so next up is Bill in his Dress Walker Outfit (circa 2026).

Oooops3: Post 4-If anyone has the time, patience, inclination, or cares, the origins of the movie “Song Sung Blue” can found here:
Oooops2: Post 2 (Newport) we neglected to mention the very untimely loss of Barrie’s dad, Major General Francis W. Billado (Fran), USANG, Adjutant General of the State of Vermont, in November 1966.

Oooops1: Bill forgot to mention in the Pirates of the Caribbean Post the following: In July of 1964, Prevail made a Port Call to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. A promotion party (known in the Navy as a “wetting down” party) for newly selected lieutenants (junior grade) – Bill among them – was held at the-then Playboy Club of Ocho Rios. Our personal “hostess” was China Lee, the October 1964 Playmate of the Month.
